Pumping Pointers
Expert tips and guidance to help you get
the most from every pumping session.
The NaturalWave® Pump was designed to mimic the baby’s natural feeding pattern and includes 12 suction levels for Stimulation, Expression (3 pumping styles) and NaturalWave® modes for a tailored and effective pumping experience. The ‘Stimulation’ phase uses quick and short suction to initiate the milk flow or a "let-down", the ‘Expression’ phase maximizes milk flow through longer, deeper suction and our patented NaturalWave® mode uses rapid fluttering motions at the end of each cycle with pauses in between to mimic baby’s breastfeeding tongue movements to encourage multiple let-downs per session for effective pumping and maximized milk output.
Rapid fluttering motions at the end of each cycle, with pauses in between, mimic a baby’s natural breastfeeding tongue movements. This technique encourages multiple let-downs per session, promoting effective pumping and maximizing milk output. It ensures you are pumping to empty, which supports optimal milk production and helps build confidence in your pumping routine. Additionally, it improves comfort and overall pumping efficiency.
Power Pumping helps your body produce more milk by rapidly emptying your breasts. It’s designed to complement your normal routine, not replace it, and can enhance milk supply over time. Click here for step-by-step instructions
Valves should be replaced every 4-6 weeks depending upon usage. We suggest inspecting the pump and accessories for wear and tear daily. If you notice any parts that are cracked, misshapen, or no longer connect, we recommend discarding and replacing them.
