Did you know that the concept of sustainability is rooted in forestry?
It was first introduced by Hans Carl von Carlowitz, who asserted that there must be a balance – we should not log more than we can regrow.
All of our local offices have been asked to interpret this in their own way and develop local action plans that help to address forest regrowth. In Turkey, our colleagues plant three trees on every employee’s birthday which sums up to 500 trees per year.
Our team in Germany chose to focus on reforestation at a FSC certified area called Gatower forest near Berlin. They planted 1,500 trees in one day.
